Facebook-Drupal User Integration

Below is a list of various Facebook modules that are currently available. Each provide a partial attempt at integrating Drupal with the Facebook API, but none of them address the most critical issue - application integration and user/session management.

Drupal for Facebook

This set of modules and themes turns Drupal into a platform for developing Facebook Applications. This allows you to embed your content and features within facebook, or allow facebook users onto your site via Facebook Connect.

With Drupal for Facebook, you can harness all the power of Drupal in you Facebook App. If you already have content in Drupal, you can expose it on Facebook.

Ubuntu's Drupal Package

There is a Drupal package in Ubuntu, so Drupal install on Ubuntu is just this line
sudo apt-get install drupal6

For the actual state of the Drupal packages in Ubuntu repository, check this site:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/drupal6
The Debian repository is: http://packages.qa.debian.org/d/drupal6.html

The Drupal libraries are placed in the file system, as used to be in Linux:

1. /usr/share/drupal6

Most of the Drupal staff is here, the rest are symlinked to this directory, so it's the Drupal root directory
2. /var/lib/drupal6

The /files directory
3. /etc/drupal/6

Drupal + Nginx + Fastcgi - setup and configuration

A Drupal site with several extra modules installed can leave quite a large memory footprint, especially when served through the beast that is Apache. Don't get me wrong, I think Apache is a great webserver and have used it for years without any real problems, but sometimes you need to squeeze a little more performance than Apache is willing to give.
